By plane

From the airport to Vienna city centre
Vienna Airport can be reached easily, comfortably and affordably by public transport. Whether you decide to take the City-Airport-Train (CAT), ÖBB Railjet, bus or rapid transit railway, it depends on your destination.

The Railjets of Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB)
This transport runs non-stop from Vienna Airport to Vienna Main Station and Wien Meidling station. The Railjets carry you quickly and comfortably twice an hour from Vienna Airport to Vienna Main Station (U1) in 15 minutes, or to Wien Meidling station (U6) in about half an hour.

Airport transfer with the Vienna City Card

There is a choice of all means of transport connecting the airport with the city: City Airport Train, ÖBB-Railjet, rapid transit railway (S7) and the bus connection with the Vienna Airport Lines. City Airport Train (CAT)
The CAT is the quickest connection from the airport to downtown Vienna (Wien Mitte, connections to U3, U4, rapid transit railway) and plies between the airport and the city every 30 minutes.

Taking the Bus
The buses of Vienna Airport Lines take you direct to Vienna city centre, to the Donauzentrum via Messezentrum and Vienna International Centre (VIC)/Austria Centre Vienna, or to the Westbahnhof and Vienna Main Station. The Blaguss Airliner offers non-stop connections via Erdberg and Vienna Main Station.
Getting around Vienna
Vienna’s public transport network is excellent. With buses, trams, trains, and relatively new metro lines. Taxis are affordable and the city’s bicycle-friendly too, so perhaps consider renting two wheels for your stay if you’ve got the legs for it!

The public transport network covers 1.150 km. The five subway lines, 28 tram lines and 129 bus lines bring you quickly and reliably to your destination. The bus names are always composed of a digit and the letter A or B (e. g. 4A). The “City Buses”, which were developed specifically for the narrow streets in Vienna’s city centre, also provide fast transportation in the 1st district.
